Editing workflow

My editing workflow is
three steps. That's it.

I spent years editing real estate photos manually. HDR blending, sky replacement, color correction — hours per shoot. Now my entire editing workflow takes less than five minutes. Here's exactly how.

My exact workflow

Shoot. Upload. Deliver.

This is not an oversimplification. This is genuinely my entire editing process. Three steps, same day turnaround, zero hours in Lightroom.

1
Shoot the listing
I show up, shoot my HDR brackets, wrap up. Because my camera settings are consistent every time (Aperture Priority, f/9, ISO 640, 2-stop brackets) my raws come out predictable. That predictability is what makes automated editing possible — garbage in, garbage out.
Consistent settings = consistent results
2
Upload to AutoHDR on the drive home
Before I even get back to my desk I've already uploaded my raws to AutoHDR. Drag, drop, select preferences, submit. It takes less than five minutes. AutoHDR handles the HDR blending, exposure correction, color grading, sky replacement — everything. The AI is trained specifically on real estate photography and the results are consistently professional.
5 minutes of actual work
3
Deliver to your client same day
By the time I'm home my edited photos are ready. I deliver through Aryeo — the agent gets a link, they download what they need, done. Same day delivery is one of the biggest competitive advantages I have in my market. Most photographers take 24–48 hours. I'm done before dinner.
Same day, every time
Jace's take

I am not a Lightroom wizard. I never was. I learned enough to get by and spent years doing it the slow way. When I found AutoHDR I realized I'd been trading hours of my life for something a machine could do better in minutes. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Your editing options

Every approach — honestly compared.

There's more than one way to handle editing. Here's my honest take on every option so you can decide what makes sense for where you are in your business.

Best option
AutoHDR
AI trained on real estate photography. Same day turnaround. Consistent professional results. This is what I use daily and the only editing service I recommend.
What I use
Depends
Edit yourself (Lightroom)
Makes sense when you're learning and have very few shoots per week. Once you're doing 3+ shoots a week the time cost is unsustainable. Learn it early, outsource it fast.
Early stage only
Depends
Offshore editing service
Cheaper per photo but inconsistent quality, slower turnaround (usually 24–48hrs), and requires back-and-forth communication. Fine as a temporary solution.
Temporary fallback
Avoid
Generic AI editors (not RE-specific)
General AI photo editors don't understand real estate photography — blown windows, dark rooms, HDR blending. The results look wrong. Stick to tools built for this specific use case.
