Video services

Add video to your shoots.
Add $199+ to every ticket.

Video is the highest-value add-on service in real estate photography. It doesn't require expensive equipment, it doesn't take much extra time on site, and agents are willing to pay well for it. Here's exactly how I do it.

Why video

The easiest way to increase your average ticket.

Photos are the baseline. Every agent needs them. But video is what separates a listing that gets scrolled past from one that gets shared, saved, and clicked. Agents know this — which is why they're willing to pay for it.

Adding a video walkthrough to a shoot that's already happening takes maybe 20–30 extra minutes on site. For that time, you're adding $199+ to your invoice. There's no better return on your time in this business.

What I use

You don't need a cinema camera.

I shoot video on my iPhone 17 Pro mounted on a DJI Osmo Mobile 7 gimbal. That's it. Modern iPhones shoot stunning 4K footage and the gimbal keeps everything smooth and stable. The result looks completely professional.

Don't let gear be the excuse that keeps you from offering video. The phone in your pocket is capable of producing content that agents and buyers love.

Camera
iPhone 17 Pro
4K video, cinematic mode, excellent low light. Already in your pocket.
You probably already own it
Gimbal
DJI Osmo Mobile 7
3-axis stabilization. Eliminates shake completely. Makes phone footage look cinematic.

Drone
DJI Mini 4 Pro
Same drone from the gear guide. Captures aerial video automatically — fly in, fly out, add to the edit.

Total video setup cost

If you already have the drone from the gear guide, adding video capability costs about $75 for the gimbal. That's it. One video add-on pays for it. Everything after that is pure revenue.

On-site video workflow

How to shoot a video walkthrough.

Keep it simple. Agents don't want a cinematic production — they want a clean, smooth walkthrough that shows the space. Here's the workflow I use.

1
Shoot photos first, video second
Always finish your photos before touching the gimbal. Photos are the priority and they require the rooms to be perfectly staged. Video is more forgiving — you're walking through, not holding still.
Order matters
2
Walk slowly and intentionally
The most common mistake in real estate video is moving too fast. Walk at half the speed you think is right. Pause in doorways to let the room breathe. Let the camera settle before you start moving. Slower is always better.
Most common mistake
3
Start outside, finish outside
Begin with an exterior establishing shot — walk toward the front door. Move through the home room by room in a logical flow. End with the backyard or any outdoor living space. Bookend the video with exterior shots for the best structure.
Standard structure
4
Get drone footage for the opening and closing
A drone reveal shot at the beginning and a pullback at the end makes even a simple walkthrough look premium. It doesn't take long — fly up, get the shot, move on. Editors can take it from there.
High impact, low time
What about Matterport?

I don't offer it. Here's why.

Matterport and 3D tours are a premium service that some markets demand — particularly luxury real estate. But they require a significant hardware investment ($3,000–5,000 for the camera) and add meaningful time to every shoot.

For where I am in my business right now, the ROI isn't there compared to video. Video costs almost nothing extra to offer and adds $199+ to every ticket. Matterport requires a larger upfront investment and is only demanded by a subset of the market.

When Matterport makes sense

If you're consistently shooting luxury listings ($1M+), or if agents in your specific market are asking for 3D tours regularly, it's worth exploring. Otherwise, master video first. It's lower risk, lower cost, and higher adoption across all price points.

Don't forget

You still need to edit those photos.

Adding video to your shoots means more deliverables and more clients. AutoHDR handles your photo editing automatically so you're not stuck at a computer when you could be shooting.
